Fall has Fallen

Oh my, it’s been a long time since our last update. I hope you have at least had something to look at, browsing through our online photo galleries. Unfortunately I have not been very regular in posting on my blog, either.

If you say “Spring has sprung”, can you also say “Fall is falling”? Well it has here in Holland. The leaves have almost all changed colors and are piling up on our lawns, sidewalks, and cars.

Nose Job

My nose operation in July went well. I was very nervous beforehand, mostly about the anesthesia; the idea that someone would inject something into my veins, and I would black out. I shudder just thinking about it. The operation has resulted in my being able to breathe more freely through both nostrils more often than I ever did before.

I had hoped that being able to breather more freely would also help me to have more energy, which it unfortunately hasn’t. I even underwent a sleep study, which involved several tests, including being wired up for a night with sensors, lung tests, and blood tests. They concluded that I don’t have apnea, which is a condition in which you stop breathing several times per hour keeping you from entering into a deep, restful sleep. This is good news, but it means that if I want to get to the bottom of this, I would have to take more tests.

Jolanda

Jolanda will be going into her eighth month of pregnancy this weekend. All is going relatively well, although she has more pain in her back and stomach than she did with Lisa.

For the most part she is involved with being a mom, although she also has some other duties at Heidebeek, like mentoring a DTS student and staff. She enjoys this very much, but she is looking forward to maternity leave which starts in November.

Teaching

I have had several opportunities to teach and lead worship these last few weeks. I am helping to teach in a series of Tuesday evenings in the DTS, called the “Worship Track”. I also taught on “Spirit-led worship” to a church worship team in a nearby village. Next Sunday evening, the 12th, I will be leading worship in YWAM’s conference center for a gathering called “The Offering”, which is a new prayer/praise initiative which will be taking place every second Sunday of the month.

Because Jolanda has had so much more difficulty with the pregnancy this time, we decided that it would not be wise for me to go off to India to teach and leave her for a week. I had planned on going from November 8th until the 18th.

Next Spring, though, I have a couple of opportunities to teach. I have been invited back to teach in Chennai, India in the School of Worship again. I also have the opportunity to go to Romania with a team to give a two-week worship course. I don’t see how I can leave Jolanda for such a long time, right after the baby has been born. Please pray for wisdom for us that we will know what to do. As always, we welcome any words, scriptures or impressions God gives you when you pray.

I often get comments when I lead worship about how strong the anointing is on me to release people into worship. I received a prophetic word the other day that there were several “stones” that God has placed in front of me that only I can throw at the enemy. This person felt that one of those was releasing Heidebeek into more freedom in the area of the prophetic and also helping to lift the heaviness we often feel in this area. God has placed a warrior anointing on me, but more than that, I am also able to lead others into warfare.

A Mini-Vacation

In closing we would like to lave you with a picture we took in Luxembourg in October. We were able to get away for a week with Jolanda’s father, brother and sister-in-law. We had a good time, going for long walks through the forests and rocky hills.

Thank you once again for reading our update and most of all for praying for us. We value your support in whatever from it takes.
